Hershey Kiss Christmas Tree Video

3D Papercraft Projects· Video Series - Creative Folds

26 Nov

For the next several weeks, as we prepare for Christmas, my weekly creative fold videos will be focusing on 3-D items that you can use as gifts or table favors.  Today's video is a 3-D project I did at my stamp retreats this fall, and it was a big hit.  The original idea was shared with me by Brenda Quintana.  It uses 9 Hershey Kisses and two chocolate nuggets.  Very simple to make with just a few score lines and cuts.  I will post the sizes of the cardstock below along with the score lines. The tree itself is made from a piece of cardstock 10" x 2".  I used Raspberry Ripple Cardstock and you score at 3 1/4", 6 1/2" & 9 3/4" horizontally.    Then you will score in half (1") vertically.   I used Multipurpose Glue to glue the vertically strip together.  This will form your tree and you will use some adhesive to fold together at the top.  To form the inserts that hold the 9 Hershey Kisses you will need a piece of cardstock that measures 2" x 11".  Take the long side horizontally and score at each 1" mark.  Then you will cut the 2" width vertically at the 1" mark.  One of these strips that is now 1" x 11" you will cut at the 4" mark, which will give you a 4" & 7" one inch strip and a 11" strip.  These three strips will form your triangle strips to hold your Hershey Kisses.  Id didn't use any glue to hold the kisses in it seemed tight enough to hold them in place, especially after you tie a ribbon around the tree.  I told a piece of Early Espresso Cardstock measuring 2" x 5 3/4" at score it long ways at the 1" x 2 3/8", 3 3/8" & 4 3/4" this forms your trunk for the tree that holds two Hershey Nuggets.  I used Sticky Strip to adhere the tree to the trunk base.  Hope you enjoy the next few weeks of creative folds.
