My family is Polish and the dish that most reminds me of Christmas is pierogis. They are a comfort food but more importantly they remind me of family togetherness. It took many of us to undertake the making of several batches which would first be served on Christmas Eve. During the cooking we loved hearing stories about "the olden days" from our mother (and aunts if any were visiting) as we all completed our assigned tasks in preparation. Eating pierogis at any time of year brings back those memories.

My favorite is also sweet potaoes, mashed, put into a baking dish, sprinkled with brown sugar and topped with marshmellows, sprinkle with chopped pecans and baked til browned and marshmellows are melting, sometimes make a side dish just for me adding crushed pineapple to the sweet potatoes and then do as I did for the other dish.—MERRY CHRISTMAS

My favorite Christmas dish is really not a dish, but something we make as a family, and that is my Great Grandmothers Peanut Butter Fudge. We make it only for the Christmas season and give it out to all of our friends and family 🙂 The list is growing 🙂
Merry Christmas to you and your family

Even though there's not a drop of Italian blood in any of us, the family favorite is Mom's lasagna! My sister asks for it every year and it doesn't seem to be Christmas Eve without it!
