This Nautical Sampler was another project we did at the Stamp Retreat. It was kind of fitting since we were right by beautiful Lake Erie.
The Lake changed so much while we were there for our stamping weekend. When I first arrived on Friday, it was totally covered with ice and on the gray side. The sun came out with beautiful blue skies and the steam was coming off the ice it was so pretty.
Friday night we had lots of wind and when we awoke we could see open water. All through the day on Saturday the lake continued to change. A lot of the ladies walked down the the water edges and was hearing the snap, crackle, and pop of the ice melting. Just like it sounds in Alaska when you are near the glaciers.
Now we complain a lot about Ohio weather. The saying goes stick around if you don't like the weather as it will change soon. And you know what it will, maybe not as fast as we'd like, but it will change some times within hours. That is why I love it here you will never get bored with the same out.
This samplers were a big hit at the retreat and will become a project at every retreat from now on change themes with the seasons. It is nice to be able to display your artwork this way.
