Have you tried this stamping technique? It is nothing new, has been around for a long time, but it a technique I haven't done in a long time.
I was excited I was joining to share it last weekend at a stamp class. But I was a little disappointed when the class got cancelled because of weather. Think it is one of the first times I have had to cancel a class because of weather, but getting 24" of snow within a 36 hours, justified the cancellation of this class.
So thought I would share the card with you. The technique is called spotlighting. As you will see, I stamped three of the flowers from the You've Got This Stamp Set.
I then took one of the Layering Circle Framelits, which are on sale until Jan. 3 for only $17.50, and cut out just one of the flowers. I colored it in using m Stampin' Write Marker in Melon Mambo and highlighted it with the Wink of Stella.
Then I used a larger Layering Circle Framelit and cut it out of a piece of Melon Mambo Card Stock to highlight the flower. A little Gold Foil Butterfly cut out with the Bold Butterfly Framelits and you have a stunning card without a lot of coloring.
For those of you that do like to color, have you got the Occasions Catalog yet, and seen that we will have a set of Watercolor Pencils in SU! exclusive colors? OMG even I, the one that doesn't like to color, is excited about this new addition.
Would you like to play with them? If you live in northeast Ohio I am having a Mystery Hostess Event on Jan. 4th from 1-3 p.m. You will make 4 make-n-takes as a thank you from me and a chance to win prizes, and will get your hands on these new watercolor pencils.
Don't forget today is last day to order and have Christmas Delivery.
I love it! I haven't tried this technique yet but think I will now!
Susan
Glad you are giving it a try. Can't wait to see the results. Snowy day in Ohio once again, good day to stamp.
