Why did I wait so long to do this creative fold? Because I felt it was too difficult. Boy was I wrong. Once you get the basics down it is an easy creative fold as you will see by the video below.
I started with a piece of Smoky Slate that measured 4 1/4" x 11" and it's important to decorate the front first. I used the beautiful Lift Me Up Bundle. This bundle matches the Carried Away Designer Series Paper which is a free item with a $50 order until March 31, or while supplies last, during Sale-a-Bration.
To make the pop-up part of the card you need a piece of card stock that measures 3" x 8". You will score down the center on both ides at 4" on the long side and 1 1/2" on the short side. Mark at the 2 1/2" from each corner with a pencil, on the top and bottom edge of card stock.
You will score an "X" from mark to mark. The center of the "X" should match the center of the card stock where the other score lines intersect. Watch the video as it will help you, this is what scared me, but it is very simple. Just remember to burnish your score line well. You will mark 2 1/8" in the center fold of your card and that is where this pop-up goes.
To cover up Pop-up cut to piece of designer series paper that measure 4" x 5 1/4". Mark at the 2" on the short side and 2" down on each side. You will cut a triangle to fit inside the card and cover up the center.
The focus piece is 3 3/4" x 11" score in center at 5 1/2" and at 2 3/4" from each end. This will fold like a "W". You need 4-2 1/2" x 3 1/2" panels for the focus piece.
To assemble the card, center the booklet at the top of the open card, ends upward just inside the edge, with the back page facing up. Apply Adhesive to the Pop-Up Mechanism, as show in the video.
