Time For A Stamp Technique Video

Uncategorized

Today's video was inspired by the card above created by Margie Vandergraff from Noblesville IN.   She submitted the card in my technique challenge.  Margie called the technique Faux Silk.  I have heard it called Faux Linen also.  It is hard to tell from the picture, but this technique really gives dimension to your card.  You will see in the video when I create the card below.

I used the Eastern Palace Specialty Designer Series Paper that you can get right now in the Eastern Palace Suite Bundle.  I love the Dapper Denim and the Gold in this paper.  I used the Wild About Flowers Stamp Set and the 1/8" Gold Ribbon for an accent.

You will see in the video this technique adds texture to your design and gives your card a little pizzazz.

You want to cut a piece of white tissue paper slightly larger than your white piece of card stock.

Stamp image of your choice on the tissue paper using black ink.  If your tissue paper has a glossy side you want to stamp on the non-glossy side.  If your stamp image is an open image you can use Stampin' Write Markers to color in.  I used a solid stamp on my card, so I got my color from my ink pad.

Next you want to crumple tissue into a ball.  Carefully open and flatten slightly.

Cover the white card with glue using a glue stick.  Place stamped and colored tissue over the glue and flatten leaving some of the wrinkles.  You can trim edges of tissue even with the card stock or tuck behind the white card stock.

For a softer look you can stamp image on white card stock and color.  Crumb a piece of tissue paper, open and flatten slightly then glue on top of design.  Trim edges as before.
