Check out this beautiful card using the New Stampin' Blends from Stampin' Up! Just love the vivid colors you get from these markers. These markers are making a watercolor artist out of me, the one who didn't like to color.
We did this card at my recent stamp retreat, and it was such a hit. We used the Birthday Blooms Stamp Set. We first took the words "Happiest of Birthdays" and stamp with Calypso Coral Classic Ink.
I had taken a cut out from the Layering Circles Framelits and used it as a masking to color the words. Then I inked the large flower from the Birthday Blooms and stamped around t he masked circle.
We then colored with the Stampin' Blends in Old Olive and Calypso Coral. Each of these colors has a light and dark shade, which really makes coloring this large flower a snap. We also used the color lifter to pull some color out to give us some lighter areas.
After we finished coloring we add some Wink of Stella and that made the flowers pop right off the card.
The little butterfly accent is from the Move Me Thinlit Dies and I used Basic Black and Calypso Coral for the card stock.
Not sure if Stampin' Blends are for you? I would suggest ordering the Old Olive and your favorite color, along with the color lifter, and give them a try. With these colors will allow you to color some flowers and do so experiencing with the Blends yourself. I feel very confident you will fall in love.
