What You Need To Know About Our 3D Embossing Folders.

What is new and what you need to know about the 3-D Folders, new and old. 

The new plate makes up the difference in measurement between our old-style Dynamic Folders and our new-style 3D Folders, with the 21 mm gap machines, like the Big Shot. The 3D Embossing Folder Plate replaces the Standard Cutting Pads in your 3D embossing folder sandwich, so you can continue to get high-quality emboss results.

To create your emboss sandwich:

1. Use a die-cutting & embossing machine platform as a base; no matter which machine you’re using, use the standard platform which comes with your machine.
2. Use the 3D Embossing Folder with your paper in the middle.
3. Then use the 3D Embossing Folder Plate on top.
4. Given the differences in machines and platforms, you may still have to add a shim to get your desired embossing results. (You can also spritz your paper before embossing to maximize your embossed impressions.)

Without the new 3D Embossing Folder Plate, you will need to use several shims with the Standard Cutting Pad for your New 3D embossing folder sandwich.  At all depends on the die-cutting & embossing machine you use.  Most machines will need between three to five sheets of cardstock to shim. Please be careful in how you shim; start out with fewer sheets first, then add sheets to get your desired results.

Stampin’ Up! will not be responsible to replace products broken, due to using a sandwich which is too thick for a machine.

NEWS About The 3-D Embossing Folder 

If you purchase 3-D folder, called Dynamic Folder before the new catalog June 4th, you do NOT need the new embossing plate.

The new plate is to be use with all 3-D embossing folder purchased from the New Catalog 2019-2020.  All the Dynamic Folders carried over from previous catalog are NOT yet available.  They will be soon.  They will be the NEW 3-D Style, so the plate will be needed. The 3-D folder that are new release in this catalog have a "N" by their name, and are the new style, and you will need the new plate.

You will be able to tell the new folders as they are thinner, but if it helps you can make your folders with an "O" for old style and "N" for new style.
