I just mailed 50 Poinsettia Ornaments to Hawaii as part of the Ornaments For Hope Pledge-a-Thon. My dear Stampin' Sister Cindy Baughman asked me to take part in this wonderful service project.
This Event is to support Hope Lodge Hawaii.
Hope Lodge Hawaii has served cancer patients with a total of 2,162 patient check-ins in 3.3 year, with 57% returning for at least a second stay. The average length of stay is 14 nights, but many have stayed months; with our longest patient being here for 9 months.
Hope Lodge Hawaii has provided over 16,006 night of FREE lodging since November of 2016, saving patients approximately $3,825,00 in potential hotel costs.
It has been a tradition that in October we have held an ornament get together to launch the beginning of the holiday season as we decorate The Lodge, while helping our ‘guest’ remain in the holiday spirit.
Current guests, past guests, family members, volunteers, board members and even many of our vendors have attended. Everyone would normally bring an ornament to add to the growing collection as we string the lights and enjoy each others company for a few hours; reflecting and enjoying all the blessings and memories that we share.
This year with COVID19 none of that will be able to happen…instead what we would like to do is send the poinsettia ornament to each past guest, caregiver, donor, vendor, volunteer, board member and whomever else comes to mind with a personalized note to have an ornament that will remind them of our continuing relationship!
It warmed my heart to serve in this way in celebration of World Card Making Day. I invite you to join Cindy for a live Facebook at Stamped With Aloha FaceBook Page at 8am, 10am, 12pm, and 2pm HST to share some card samples created with the Peaceful Poinsettia Bundle.
Don't forget I have a Exclusive PDF Tutorial for the Poinsettia Petal Bundle.
