It’s Friday and Tips & Technique Video Day. Today I am sharing a technique I learned many years ago, but one that Sue Floyd reminding me of during our recent TEAM Challenge. It really adds some character to your cards with an embossing flair.
How do you create a dry emboss look, but omit the center of your embossing?

You create this look by creating you own Specialty Plate. I used the cardboard that comes in my Designer Series Paper. I found that three sheets of the cardboard worked for my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. Your Embossing Machine may be different, and you may need to add or substract a layer.
I then cut out a square 1″ from all four sides. Now you can use anything to cut the center out of your Specialty Plate. The possibilities are endless.
One thing I did find when using the cardboard, after a while the cardboard gets thinner from running through your Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine, so you may need to add another layer of cardboard.
Give this Embossing Folder Technique a try. You love the results.
