Thanks so much for joining our blog hop. We are looking at ways to create creative backgrounds for our cards. I have found that the new Patchwork Pieces Dies, from the Annual Catalog, to be a fun and easy way to create interesting and fast backgrounds for my cards. . You can create so many different looks with these dies.

You’ll love the creative fun you can have with these Patchwork Pieces Dies! Quickly and easily die-cut unique shapes you can arrange in multiple ways for a variety of contemporary looks. I have found that is was easiest for me to cut a piece of card stock that measured 3 1/8″ x 4 5/8″, which is the same size was the die, to put my patchwork together. I also like using the Multipurpose Glue to adhere them together. I used the Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series in two different patterns, but was able to create three totally different looking cards.

Patch work Pieces Dies make for very creative backgrounds for your cards when used with Designer Series Paper

My first card I used both designs of Designer Series Paper. Then after adhering to the cardstock, I ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder. I used the Stylish Shapes for the verse from the Go To Greetings Stamp Se,t and cut out a little fly from the paper for an embellishment.

For my second card I used just three pieces of the Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper and let the Mossy Meadow Card Stock in the background show through. This gives a totally different look, but still uses the two cuts with the designer series paper. I used the Basic 3D Embossing Folder, from the Online Exclusives, the Deckled Rectangles Dies, and the words are from the Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set.

The Let's Go Fishing Designer Series Paper and the Patchwork Pieces Dies make for the perfect masculine card

My third card uses the remaining pieces from my original die-cuts, from the Let’s Go Fishing Designer Series Paper. This time, I used the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder and lightly sponged with my Blending Brush. The words come from the Charming Sentiments Stamp Set and the Sentiments Silhouettes Dies.

Now let’s go see what the others created for their backgrounds. If you just buzzed over from Kim Baker’s post and need to get back, or if you want to keep buzzing by over to Lisa Brown’s post, click the buttons below!
